Impact investments in East Africa

In October 2019, we joined a group of seed investors in Get It. Get It is a Rwanda-based producer, manufacturer and distributor of food produce, with a primary focus of distributing Rwandan agricultural produce to domestic and international customers. The company has a strong focus on export and Get It is the first fresh produce distributor to achieve ISO 22000 for fresh produce in Rwanda. Get It has developed a new model for in-country production, to be able to meet the quantity, quality and consistency demands of export. Working closely with local government, Get It has created a commercial farm growing ginger where over 200 small holder farmers get paid to work on the land and receive a share of any profits generated. The investment is helping the business develop critical mass in each of the three areas of production, manufacturing and distribution, taking the business to a position where it can raise a larger growth capital investment in 2020.
